ACLU seeks permanent halt to Va. school's transgender bathroom policy

WASHINGTON — The American Civil Liberties Union submitted paperwork in courtroom to shift forward with a lawsuit on behalf of a Virginia transgender pupil that would permanently halt a policy that prevented him from utilizing the boy’s rest room.

The ACLU has been representing Gavin Grimm for the past a few several years in his battle to use the boy’s rest room at his Gloucester County high university.

The paperwork submitted on Friday ends a request for an quick injunction that would halt the policy — clearing the way for the ACLU to continue battling for a long lasting halt to the university board’s policy.
